Watch: The Strokes share curious new video for "Threat of Joy"

By Benjamin Irons

The Strokes have released a music video for new track "Threat Of Joy" off of their latest Future Present Past EP, released earlier this month.

Directed by American music video director, illustrator and designer, Warren Fu.

The film opens with an inception-esque plot - a video within a video. The video in question would be the lead number off of the latest EP, "Oblivius". And the sequence for the video for "Threat Of Joy" attempts to narrate the band's thwarted effort to conjure up a politically motivated visualisation for the lead single "Oblivius",  through which singer Casablanca explained to Zane Lowe on Beats 1 radio that the production for the video "[through indirect corridors] got shut down".
