Why the Hacienda in 1994? This particular show was considered, by Noel Gallagher, as one of the more iconic gigs from that decade. Presumably not just because it was in their home town of Manchester, but because this show hosted the release of their debut album Definitely Maybe, which subsequently pioneered a new movement for Brit pop and rock respectively; brit-pop was conquering the nation, and Oasis were at the very epicentre of a new and exciting chapter for rock and roll.

Since its release in 1994, Definitely Maybe has gone on to achieve Platinum status in 5 different countries, reaching 7x Platinum with sales of over 2,000,000 in the UK alone. This commemorative piece is just one of many tributes to the success and notoriety that surrounded its release and contribution to popular culture. The last to pay homage to the release of the record was the 'Chasing The Sun' exhibition, curated by Lawrence Watson, held in Manchester last year. Open to the public, this exhibition allowed members to walk around the Old Granada Studios, which housed all sorts of Oasis memorabilia including unseen photos and handwritten lyrics. The main attraction however was the life-size Definitely Maybe set, which gave attendees the chance to recreate that famous shot on the cover of the album.

Regarding his newest print, McKee commented: "It has been fantastic to work on this special print for this classic Oasis gig. The last time I worked on a project like this with the band was the commemorative Brighton poster back in 2008", adding, "I have tried to recreate something that is very McKee and also very reminiscent of the venue and the iconic graphics the Hacienda was famous for."
