Elliott Quince's #IllustratedAlbums
He’s a "plasticine illustrator, animator, stuntman, children's entertainer, astronaut, compulsive liar, and now officially stand-up comedian". This month, however, Elliott Quince is an ink artist, and he has produced a set of 20 classic album covers as part of a new uncommissioned project titled 'Illustrated Albums'.
The project showcases a signature Quince cartoon interpretation of 20 classic albums, from Fleetwood Mac's Rumours (1977), to NWA's Straight Outta Compton (1988).
Speaking to TAO, Quince explained: "The albums I chose were a bit of a mixture - some of them ( e.g. Aladdin Sane, Pet Sounds, Meat is murder) were albums that I've listened to growing up, others were just iconic covers that were instantly recognisable that I wanted to have in the set". Each print has been produced using black ink with 3 different sized brushes, to capture each bit of detail on each record.
Each print is being posted up on his twitter page throughout this month, and will also be sold as individual prints.
