Mason London produces illustrated lyric video for Cadenza & Allan Kingdom's "Vibes"
Illustrator and art director, Mason London, has produced a stunning lyric video for Cadenza & Allan Kingdom's new single "Vibes", released last week.
Mason London, aka, Joe Prytherch, who works as a freelance designer and illustrator at London's Boiler Room, has previously worked to supply animations for artists including JME ("CD is Dead"), Fatboy Slim, Wiley, and Kurupt FM.
"Vibes" tells the story of a lonely man looking for love, depicted as Cadenza, but knowing that timing is key, he's attempting to play it cool in the hope that the woman he's after recognises his subtle, indirect efforts to woo her. Prytherch's lyric video visualises this scenario perfectly, with the opening clip introducing you to a rather troubled individual, seemingly finding himself in the same situations wherever he goes: unaccompanied, in bed, at work, at the bar, and in the taxi on his way home.
Known for his thoroughly detailed scenes, he gives the video life through subtle background animations via the subject's eyes; a record player spinning and smoke rising from a burning incense stick, to list a few. He also pays homage to popular logotypes and common typefaces collectively giving the video pertinent qualities.
